Welcome to AltDraft ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using altdraft.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

AltDraft is a sports analytics platform that provides NFL and NBA re-draft analysis using a proprietary contextual scoring formula. The Site includes:

• Historical draft re-analysis and player projections
• Methodology and coaching tree research
• Editorial content and commentary
• Newsletter subscription services (optional)

All content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

3. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Scrape, harvest, or copy content without permission (see Section 5)
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or related systems
• Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code
• Impersonate AltDraft, staff, or other users
• Interfere with the operation of the Site or servers
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the Site excessively

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations.

4. Disclaimers

4.1 Entertainment & Analysis Only

AltDraft content is for entertainment, educational, and analytical purposes only.It is NOT professional advice. Our re-drafts, projections, and analyses are hypothetical exercises based on historical data and proprietary modeling.

4.2 No Gambling Advice

4.3 Accuracy & Timeliness

We strive for accuracy but make no guarantees. Player stats, draft data, and team information are based on publicly available sources and our research as of the publication date. Information may become outdated or contain errors.

Data cutoff: All analysis reflects data through the 2024 NFL and NBA seasons unless otherwise noted.

4.4 Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Pro Football Reference, Basketball Reference). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external sites.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

All content on AltDraft — including but not limited to:

• Re-draft analysis and player projections
• Proprietary scoring formula and methodology
• Coordinator research and coaching tree data
• Text, graphics, logos, and design

…is owned by AltDraft or its licensors and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws.

5.2 Permitted Use

You may:

• View and read content for personal, non-commercial use
• Share links to pages on social media or your website
• Quote short excerpts (1-2 paragraphs) with proper attribution and a link back to the original page

5.3 Prohibited Use

You may NOT:

• Reproduce, republish, or redistribute entire articles or datasets
• Use our proprietary methodology, scoring formula, or coordinator research in commercial products without permission
• Scrape or harvest content via automated means (bots, crawlers)
• Remove copyright notices or attributions

5.4 Trademarks

"AltDraft" and associated logos are trademarks of AltDraft. All other trademarks (NFL, NBA, team names) are property of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with the NFL, NBA, or any professional sports team.

6. User-Generated Content

If we enable comments, forums, or user submissions in the future:

• You retain ownership of content you submit but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it
• You are responsible for your submissions and any legal consequences
• We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove user content at our discretion

Currently, AltDraft does not host user-generated content beyond newsletter subscriptions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• AltDraft is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site
• This includes but is not limited to: losses from reliance on content, financial losses from gambling/betting, or damages from viruses/malware
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed $100 or the amount you paid to access the Site (currently $0 for free content)

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AltDraft, its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Site
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights (copyright, privacy, etc.)

9. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information (including Google AdSense and Google Analytics disclosures).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause, and without notice. Provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where AltDraft is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Site shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules, except where prohibited by law.

12. Miscellaneous

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms (along with the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and AltDraft.
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right.
• Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to a successor entity.
